No offense to anyone who's made off-topic posts here, but this thread really shouldn't be jeopardized by talk of nicknames and whatnot. We're trying to get across an point here. We want people to take this seriously. Again, no offense to anyone. I second that! But I am a little bias seeing I wrote the thread and all.

I don't really 'gush' over Liam (i think i did once or twice ) i just like looking at pictures of him or watching interviews and see him grow up. The growing process is an interesting one and i hope he stays an actor. I don't even really want to meet him or anything, i just want to watch him grow

I can't really figure him out. i know that he's incredably smart and nice, but i just have no idea who his true self is. and i kinda like it that way. I wouldnt want him to be a huuuge movie star and have annoying teens mistake him for who he really is, and i think he has more talent than attractiveness.

Yeah, I guess my overall point is that, you CAN think he's attractive AND appreciate his talent to the fullest. You don't have to just pick one. You can have both, and that is the best part. Pretending not to think he's even the least bit hot is kinda ridiculous.
I like the mystery as well. It's cool to not be sure about his personality. It's more fun to guess. When you guess it turns him into something all the more great. I'd hate for his personal life to be all over the place, it seems he just loves acting, and I just cannot even fathom him as one of those "it" people you know, all over town. Nope, I see him as a guy going to school and watching TV lol. I just mean that he's so normal and that's very cool. It makes him all the more identifiable.

Exactly. You hear about big celebrities until the point where they all sound exactly the same, and you make assumptions about people when they may actually be great people. Liam just doesn't have that "I'm gonna be the hugest star on the planet or I will have failed" vibe. I used to think that if someone didn't make it big, they hadn't really been successful. But I was, most definitely, wrong. Even when none of us knew his name, he was acting, getting gigs and playing the parts and doing well, and that's what matters. He has incredible talent, which is undeniable. Now it's up to him to follow his heart, and go wherever he feels he should in his career.

ok first of all, sorry for getting off topic ^_^ i think it depends on the day on what i type of fan i am. some days, when i've been on this site for a really long time, and i just saw his movie and found out how incredibly TALENTED he is, i'm more of a "real" fan, but some days, when i've been looking in galleries and stuff, i completely obsess and i'm more of a "fan girl" so yeah it depends. most of the time i'm a "real" fan though. he IS soo cute though....

*applauds* I would say I'm both. I wouldn't say all that stuff about depth *not that he doesn't have it* etc. because I don't know how to use it properly in a sentence! ;D Yeah. People can be both. They can have both to them. I hate stereotypes and I love people who can be outside the stereotype boundaries. Why did I just say that? I dunno.

What's the deal with the lable anyway? A lot of people find Fan Girls nauseating. I myself am usually one of them. I mean come on, there's only so many times you can say "OMG LIAM IS HOT" but I don't see a lot of that on this board. I find everyone here to be very mature, with an occasional moment of Fan Girliness. Who can blame us though? Liam is hot. There's not getting around it. Fan Girl: Liam is gorgeous. He has brilliant green eyes and a smile that could kill. His voice make me melt when I hear it and that mischieveious look he constantly gives makes me weak in the knees. He plays guitar and wears Chucks. He's a punk fan and has an adorable laugh. And his hair, oh his hair, it's amazing, perfect even. "Real" Fan: Liam has an incredible sense of maturity. He's wise beyond his year. There's this amazing depth of emotion to him, he can readily access any given emotion. There's something pure about his acting, he's untainted by the world, he just gives a performance that's amazing and free of any kind of baggage. He seems very real and identifiable with the audience. He makes you feel like you know him just through his extremely honest portrayl of life. I think all those things about Liam. Why can't I be both? Why can't I be a Fan Girl and a "Real" Fan? You can't tell me you don't think Liam is attractive. If he were ugly, I doubt many of us would be here. Is that shallow? Hell yes. But it's true. The world isn't black and white; it's grey. I have no problem saying that I am a Fan Girl because I know that there's a depth to my appreciation for Liam. I understand that I'm drawn to him because I'm attracted to him but at the same time he really is an amazing actor. I know for some people it's hard to believe you can think someone is hot and a good actor. But trust me, sometimes it happens. And I guess that is all I have to say about that. I guess I just felt like a lot of us are misunderstood. I wanted to let my feelings on the whole "geeky fan girl" subject known. I think it's ok in a healthy dossage and if it makes you happy why should you deny yourself that? Liam makes me happy, his acting AND his handsomeness make me very happy, why should I pretend they dont? it never actually came to me that being a fan of liam could be that complicated. choosing between 2 things that for me isn't even different. life is too short for me to complicate things. and im sure liam wouldn't mind. he should love all of us! cause without us beautiful fan girls of his, his celebrity life would not be complete at all! im a proud liam aiken real fan girl!
