A review of the movie from the site The Quibbler I came across : The true star of the show, however, lies in the simmering stares of Liam Aiken, who depicts bookworm Klaus. Though his acting could most certainly be polished, his magnetism quickly overshadows his deficiencies. He portrays Klaus—a rather flat, nerdy character in the book—with a sinister dynamic, adding levels to the middle Baudelaire book-readers might never have considered. This Klaus is dark, almost devious, in nature, and his loathing of Olaf is much more steeped in hatred than fear. Mistrusting, aggressive, and—strange to say for a 14-year-old actor—very sexy ( ), Aiken has a screen presence that, with development and time, will be a captivating force. One can only hope that Daniel Radcliffe will emulate his electrifying stares when time comes for Harry Potter to release his pent up woes. the-quibbler.org/archives/2005/january/review.htm
